Guavas, which are shaped like a cross between an apple and a pear are full of Vitamin A, B-but most surprisingly have about five (5) times the amount of Vitamin C than an orange! You can also eat the skin-so it is just as easy to chop up a guava for a smoothie as it is an apple. Guavas typically are found in your grocery store and fruit markets in the late winter and early spring and are scrumptious when combined with soy milk, fruits and even orange juice.. It is just that simple. Here is a smoothie recipe you can try tomorrow morning. Combine in your blender:

1 banana or the equivalent of frozen banana chips
1 cup chilled soy milk
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon Chia seed
Blend until smooth, adding a few ice cubes if your smoothie is too thick. The amount will depend if you are using a fresh banana or frozen banana chips.
