

Here, “green” doesn’t refer to the environmental movement, but to the color. Avocados and green grapes are both wonderful shades of green. The Pear is, I admit, more yellow than green, but it goes really well in this recipe and so gets included!
This recipe is a favorite of ours because it contains so much nutrition in a really tasty smoothie. You can also add Chia seed, for efen more nutrition. Because Chia seed has no notable flavor of its own it goes well in almost any smoothie recipe, including this one. Full of omega-3 fatty acids and other good stuff, the Chia herb is a good supplement to keep on hand.

-2 large pears, cored, seeded and cut in chunks, or 1 and 1/2 cups of chilled pear halves or slices
-1 cup green grapes
-1/2 avocado, seeded, peeled and cut in chunks
-2 teaspoons honey
-1 tablespoon of lemon juice
-1 teaspoon of chia seed
