Orange Blueberry Smoothie

Orange Blueberry Smoothie

To make a filling and healthy Orange Blueberry Smoothie isn’t hard at all. This recipe uses all low fat ingredients so it is low calorie too.

In your smoothie blender:

  • 1 cup of blueberries
  • 1 large orange, peeled and cut in chunks
  • 1 cup –low fat yogurt
  • 1/4 cup soy or 2% milk
  • 2 Tbsp honey or 3 tsp Splenda
  • About 1-1 ½ cups of ice cubes.

Place the fruits in the blender and blend, then add yogurt, milk and sugar.  Add about ½ cup of ice cubes and mix, adding a few more ice cubes at a time until the smoothie is the consistency you like.  If you use frozen blueberries you will probably use less ice.  This recipe makes enough for 3-4 drinks, and is quite filling.

Keep in mind that blueberries are low in calories –one cup is about 80 calories, and and large orange is about 85.  The perfect meal to control your weight.  You can also substitute tangerines for oranges.
