

The store is full of pumpkins, squash and fall fruits. This fall, don’t just think pumpkins are for decorations or pie….but grab a couple of cans of pumpkin and make this tasty fall smoothie. Quick, easy and so tasty! In your smoothie blender mix:
-1/2 cup canned pumpkin*
-1 cup low-fat vanilla yogurt
-1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
-1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
-2 teaspoons brown sugar
-1 teaspoon of chia seed for the omega 3s we need for healthy living
If you need to thin out your smoothie, add some crushed ice or a couple of ice cubes, mixing until it blends to your favorite consistency.
*You can also cook the meat of a fresh pumpkin, by placing in a shallow pan and cooking at 325 until the pumpkin meat is tender.
