Strawberry Oatmeal Yogurt-Fruit Smoothie

When I first saw the term “rolled oats” I had no idea what it meant. Turns out that rolled oats are oat groats (the hulled grains) that have been rolled into flat flakes by a mechanical process using very heavy rollers. The flakes are than steamed and lightly toasted. Not sure if this new knowledge means anything but this Strawberry Oatmeal smoothie sure makes them taste great.

- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1 cup milk (low-fat, 2%, or soy)
- 1/2 cup plain low-fat yogurt
- 1 cup of frozen banana chunks
- 1 cup of frozen strawberries
- 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
- 1 Tablespoon maple syrup or honey
- 1 teaspoon Chia seed
