Fruits and yogurts make the most delicious afternoon yogurt smoothies, and ones your kids can make too. Teaching our children how to make a healthy smoothie will go a long, long way as they develop healthy eating habits. Once they find out how easy it is to put together breakfast smoothies or frozen smoothies for dessert-you will see how their overall habits lean towards fresh foods and healthy eating.
Let your kids go to the store with you and choose their favorite yogurts and then move over to the frozen fruits and grab a few bags of bananas, strawberries and mixed berries. Here is an easy one they are sure to love:
1 cup frozen banana chips
1 cup frozen strawberries
1 cup low-fat yogurt, the flavor of their choice
If they want to make it a little sweeter you can add a tablespoon of honey too
Mix until smooth and creamy, pour and if you would like, add a “slurpy straw,” you know, the one with the little spoon on the end!
Healthy, nutritious and a great afternoon snack-you and your kids are sure to enjoy!
Good recipe! Thanks!
